Varghese Matthews, M.D.

Dr. Varghese Matthews was born in India, but got to Texas as soon as he could. He completed his undergraduate studies at The University of Texas – Austin in Biomedical Engineering. He received his medical degree from Texas A&M Health Science Center. He went on to complete his residency in Clinical Anesthesiology at Baylor College of Medicine in the prestigious Texas Medical Center. Clinical exposure at Ben Taub General Hospital, Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Texas Heart Institute at St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital, and Texas Children’s Hospital allowed him to gain extensive knowledge in all aspects of anesthetic sub-specialties and care of a wide variety of patient populations.

Dr. Matthews is licensed by the Texas Medical Board and is in the process of being board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology and license by the Texas Medical Board. He is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, Texas Society of Anesthesiologists, American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, Dallas County Medical Society, and Texas Medical Association.

During his free time he enjoys traveling with his lovely wife, scuba diving, trying various cuisines, watching sports, and spending time with family and friends.
